To the Editor, The tally is in. The 6.4 million dollar water Bond in Proctor passed by 14 votes, 418 people voted. This small margin of victory shows that there is concern about the project cost. It is our job now as a selectboard/water board to work together to get as much grant money as possible for this project. I hope the voters hold the selectboard accountable for what was written in the brochures and mailed out to everyone, which was a loan amount of $3.4 million. If we are held to that loan amount then it would bring the new billing unit rate to $479.06 per year. That is the figure that the selectboard/water board figured out on July 20, 2010. I will work my hardest to keep our loan amount as low as possible. Susan Feenic Member of Proctor Selectboard.
| Dear Editor, I would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank the many outstanding business's, individuals, and organizations, who contributed so graciously towards the tremendous success of the 15th Annual Castleton Concert on the Green, "live music" summer concert series, which was enjoyed by thousands, this past summer. They are, the wonderful supportive sponsors, the performers, local newspapers and radio stations, the Castleton Federated Church; Castleton State College, and its Audio Technical Department, Troop 13, Venture crew 122, and ALL the "behind the scenes" people who helped in so many various ways. We set an attendance record this year, and so, I would especially like to thank the many thousands of Rutland County music lovers, the many visiting neighbors throughout all the New England states, and our summer visitors, who attended these "live music" weekly summer concerts, for their continued loyalty and enthusiasm, and for their support of this well established summer tradition in the village of Castleton. It was a fun summer, and it is always a pleasure to be associated with, and to work with all these people who help to make the Castleton Concert on the Green the wonderful success that it is. Thank you. Dick Nordmeyer, Director, Castleton Concert on the Green |
