RUTLAND—Claire DiIonno of Wallingford and Brianna Barker of West Rutland are this year’s recipients of the 18th annual Courcelle Scholarship awarded by PEGTV. Each received $2,000 to pursue a post-secondary education in the visual arts field.

Claire DiIonno is a senior at Mount Saint Joseph Academy and plans to study graphic design while attending Merrimack College in the fall. She is the daughter of Paul DiIonno III and Kelly DiIonno.

Brianna Barker is a senior at Mill River Union High School and a member of the Stafford Technical Center Digital Arts Program. She plans to attend New Hampshire Institute of Art in the fall. Brianna is the daughter of Jenn and Keith Barker.

Two Rutland County high school seniors are chosen for the award each year for exhibiting a high level of proficiency and interest in the visual and media arts. The scholarship honors the memory of Joe Courcelle for his pioneering work for local public access tv. He was an active member of the original board of directors, a dedicated independent producer and an integral part of the establishment of Rutland’s PEGTV.
