Shopping & Services The Crossroads of Vermont is a large geographical area. It encompasses approximately 30 towns. At the heart of the region is the state’s second largest city, and the world famous Killington Ski & Summer Resort. Rutland serves as the major shopping mecca for a population of approximately 150,000 people. Rutland has the Diamond Run Mall that features traditional anchor stores, boutiques and a food court, and two other malls at each end of the city, a vibrant historic downtown district, many with interesting architectural and historically important characteristics, plus a shopping plaza and many other locally-owned specialty shops. The downtown area offers street parking, as well as a multi modal transit facility with parking garage.
