KILLINGTON — Killington Mountain School student Grace Weinberg is a prime example of a focused and goal-oriented student-athlete, who has been able to pursue college preparatory academics and maintain high-level athletic training in preparation for her ultimate goal of earning a spot on the luge team for the 2016 Youth Olympic Games.

After spending the fall in Killington, Weinberg will soon depart for Lake Placid, N.Y., where she will get back on ice for training and begin the World Cup circuit, which will take her to Norway, Austria, Latvia, and Germany. Grace will compete in four World Cups in her pursuit of participating in the Youth Olympics Games, held in Lillehammer, Norway, in February, 2016.

“I believe I’m going into the season the strongest I’ve ever been, and after this fall, I feel like I really belong at KMS,” Weinberg said. “I appreciate the support everyone has given me, and I am excited about all of the luge fans I’ve gained through my KMS experience! I’ll miss my friends here in Killington, but at the same time, I’m really eager to pursue another season on the national team.”

The KMS community wishes Weinberg the best of luck as she hits the road and heads toward gold!
