Killington Welcome Center extends open hours, staff time

KILLINGTON— The Killington Welcome Center has extended its hours to support the heightened levels of visitors. The Welcome Center will be open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The extended hours will continue until Jan. 1, 2018.

“During the last two weeks in July the Welcome Center saw over 300 visitors. Some are just stopping by for the day while others are spending their vacations here in Vermont. I look forward to telling them about what Killington has to offer in dining, lodging, shopping, and hiking” said Membership Services Director Alexis King.

The KPAA has also welcomed Hannah Keune as volunteer and events coordinator, who will be at the Welcome Center Monday through Friday. Keune is a student at Community Colleges of Vermont and has been part of the Welcome Center weekend staff. She will extend her duties by assisting in the Merchant Pass Volunteer program along with keeping the Welcome Center brochures and posters up to date.

KPAA director Kim Peters will provide support to King and Keune and a play a role in membership opportunities, local businesses success, the Vermont Holiday Festival, Killington Wine Festival weekend.

“I began this journey over six months ago to fill a void and I’m excited to continue on supporting the events and staff. I was impressed how quickly Alexis has taken on her new role and see only good things to come for the KPAA,” said Peters.
