VWA teams up with the Marrow Donor Program in celebration of new
life
Vermont Wedding Association is pleased to team up with Kerry Ellis
and Jennifer St. Peter of the Marrow Donor Program at the Rutland
Regional Medical Center again for the Rutland show. The premise is,
as couples begin their journey together toward a new life, they are
often happy to give someone else a chance at a new life, explains
Judy Risteff, owner of Vermont Wedding Association.
"We are pleased to share that three of our shows have found a
match," she said. "I was invited by Kerry and Jennifer to a recent
event where I was able to meet donors and recipients. It was an
honor to be present to hear their stories and get to meet them. Our
thanks goes out to all of the very generous engaged couples who are
so willing to reach out and help someone in need. We are pleased to
continue to reach out to our engaged couples and their families and
friends at our bridal shows to search for donor."
Everyday approximately 6000 patients who need a life-saving marrow
are searching for a donor match. We invite the community to stop by
and join the registry even if they are not able to attend the show.
Registering to be a possible match consists only of a brief medical
form and a cheek swab.
VWA rolls out their new website
"The most recent VWA stats have revealed that over 90% of couples
planning weddings look for their info online. The
Vermontweddingassociation.com website, in its 11th year, continues
to be the largest and most comprehensive online information center
for couples planning weddings and events in Vermont," says Risteff.
Adding "The biggest difference between the VWA website and others
that are promoting Vermont weddings is that our categories were
very specifically created by our members. As we transition members
into the new site there will be no categories without a listing...
Smooth sailing when this is complete and we expect these additions
to result in continued success and even greater traffic," said
Risteff
