RUTLAND- Same Sun of Vermont announced on Jan. 27 the completion
and commissioning of a 39.6kW Solar Array at Alderman's Toyota at
33 Seward Road in Rutland Town. The system will produce over 44,000
kilowatt hours of clean solar power each year, and well over one
million hours throughout the life of the system. Same Sun also
installed a public kiosk that displays the array's production as
well as educational information about solar energy.
Phil Parrish, Same Sun's NABCEP-Certified Project Manager,
designed the system and oversaw its installation. Performance of
the system is monitored through software provided by Wattmetrics
LLC in Bethel, Vt.
Alderman's Toyota is the first Rutland business to take advantage
of CVPS' new net metering bonus, which will pay the dealership an
additional $0.06 per kilowatt for the energy they produce.
Phil Alderman, who also owns the local Chevrolet Buick GMC and Kia
dealerships, has said that relying on renewable energy dovetails
with the move toward electric and hybrid vehicles sold by Toyota
and Chevrolet.
Same Sun, founded by Rutland Town residents Philip and Marlene
Allen, designs and installs solar power systems for homes and small
businesses.
