Bridgewater Village School staff and volunteers have come
together to offer the BVS Community Market on the second and fourth
Thursday of each month, beginning on Thursday, June 28. The
community market, which will be outdoors in front of the school and
in the field on Route 4 in Bridgewater, will be held from 4-7 p.m.
rain or shine. Monies raised during these markets will benefit
taste-testing and Farm to School-type activities at Bridgewater
Village School.
Currently, students learn about farming and gardening and plant
their own vegetable garden in the spring, then reap the rewards of
those plants in the fall during healthy snack and lunch time. Dates
are June 28, July 12 & 26, August 9 & 23, Sept. 13 &
27, and Oct. 11.
Organizers are looking for all types of vendors from farm,
vegetable and fruit stands, to baked goods, crafters, and other
community market-type items. They are also looking for those who
might want to provide demonstrations that pertain to Farm to
School-type programs.
Vendors, farmers, crafters and others interested in vending at the
market may do so with an approximate 12' x 12' space. The cost for
this space is $12/market. Those interested contact Louise Rameau at
802-457-3753 or lrameau@wcsu.net.
