On April 10, the Killington Selectboard unanimously adopted
a Strategic Operating Plan to focus its 2012-13 efforts on
making the Town a premier resort community.
To become a premier resort community, offering residents a high
quality of life and tourists a memorable mountain adventure, the
plan outlines four simple goals: maintaining fiscal strength and
low municipal taxes; providing efficient municipal services;
increasing tourism and year round employment, and maintaining
strong educational and cultural institutions.
To support these
goals, the Selectboard is planning to appoint interested residents
to a "Green Mountain National Golf Course Advisory Committee" to
help guide long term planning at the Golf Course.
The Committee shall serve in an advisory capacity to the Green
Mountain National Golf Course General Manager (GM) and the Town of
Killington Town Manager and Board of Selectmen. The Committee shall
advise in the areas of capital planning, long term strategic
planning, financial reporting, membership development and "Stay and
Play" development. The committee shall assist the GM and Town
Manager in the creation of a long term five- to 15-year
comprehensive capital plan and update the capital plan on an annual
basis. The Committee's role is intended to be "high level" and
limited to the above mentioned areas and does not include advice on
general day to day operations or course maintenance.
Interested residents should submit their letter of interest by
August 6 to the Killington Selectboard (P.O. Box 429, Killington,
Vt. 05751) and email: sethwebb@town.killington.vt.us
