Three vehicle crash results in no injuries

On August 19, at approximately 9:12 p.m. troopers from the Royalton Barracks responded to a three car motor vehicle crash at the intersection of  US Route 4 and VT Route 100 in West Bridgewater, Vt. Members of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department, Woodstock ambulance, and Bridgewater Constable also responded to the scene.

Investigation revealed that vehicle #2 and vehicle #3 were stopped at a solid red traffic light heading east on Route 4. Vehicle  #1 was also traveling east on Route 4 when the operator rear ended vehicle #2, pushing it into vehicle #3. Vehicle #2 sustained the bulk of the damage and had to be towed from the scene. Vehicle #1 and # 3 were operable.

It was found that the operator of vehicle #1, Walter Williams age 45 from Fairfax Station, VA, was at fault for this crash because he was not paying attention and applied his brakes too late to avoid colliding with vehicle #2, operated by Damian Jarvie age 23 from Cavendish, Vt.

Amy Hanson, age 34 from Dorchester, MA was the operator of vehicle #3.

No injuries were reported, however a 3-month-old baby who was a passenger in vehicle #2 was transported to DHMC as a precaution by Woodstock Ambulance. The child was properly restrained in a child safety seat.

Drugs, alcohol, nor excessive speed were factors in this crash.
