A community band is forming for citizen musicians of all ages in
the greater Mill River Area. Bear Irwin, Director of
Bands at Mill River Union High School has volunteered to be the
first Music Director of this group, although it is anticipated that
there may be other conductors, as well.
The first meeting/rehearsal will be at Mill River Union High
School, on Wednesday October 3, from 7- 9 p.m. in the Band Room at
Mill River Union High School. Musicians of all ages are
welcome as long as they come with a desire to work collaboratively
in an ensemble setting. The Mill River Area Community Band will
rehearse from 7-9 p.m. every other Wednesday starting October
3.
Nan Dubin and Janine Rodgers have accepted appointments as
Organization Co-Presidents. It is expected that participants will
enjoy regular and routine opportunities to rehearse Band
Repertoire, although it is possible that public performances may
also be scheduled in the future. For more info contact Nan Dubin at
nan@vermontel.net or 259-3490 or Bear Irwin at birwin@rssu.org.
