On August 31 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tpr. Sorensen was
patrolling VT 155 in Mt. Holly in response to speeding traffic
complaints during the early morning hours that were made to the
Rutland Barracks. At approximately 6:38 a.m. while traveling
south on VT 155 near Government Road in Mt. Holly a northbound
vehicle came around a right hand curve at a high rate of speed. The
vehicle, a 2003 VW Jetta, was clocked at 91 MPH in the posted 50
MPH zone. The vehicle was stopped in the area of Howe Farm
Road and the operator was identified as Joshua Parks, age 29 of
Weston, Vt. Parks was cited for Excessive Speed and processed at
the Rutland Barracks. He is cited to appear in Rutland Superior
Court-Criminal Division.
