On Monday, October 1 at 6:30 p.m., Trinity Episcopal Church in
Rutland will host a program, Healthcare Reform in Vermont -
Educational Update and Question & Answer Period. The event will
take place in Nourse Hall, and will include a description of the
national legislation, the American Affordable Care Act as well as
Vermont's new Healthcare law, Act 48, which puts Vermont on the
path to universal health care.
Much of the event will be a question and answer period with
Senator Claire Ayer, Chair of the Senate Health and Welfare
Committee, Addison County and Brandon Democrat; Senator Kevin
Mullin, Vice Chair of the Senate Health and Welfare Committee,
Rutland County Republican; Randal Smathers, Moderator.
The event is sponsored by the Rutland Healthcare is a Human
Right Organizing Committee ,The Workers Center, The Unitarian
Universalist Church of Rutland and the RRMC Nurses Union.
