On Sept. 2 at approximately 9:06 a.m., members of the Vermont
State Police, Rutland Barracks, were notified of a crash that
occurred between two vehicles at the intersection of Birchwood
(PVT) and US Route 4, Mendon, Vt.
Investigation revealed 17-year-old Ashlyn K. Rogers of Mendon,
was unable to stop her vehicle, at the intersection of Birchwood
(PVT) and US Route 4, causing her vehicle to crash into the side
of, 65-year-old Josiane M. Delepine's vehicle. This caused
Delepine's vehicle to spin off the roadway and into the pond in
front of the Cortina Inn & Resort, US Route 4, Killington, Vt.
Traffic was redirected temporarily with the assistance of Rutland
City Fire Department. Neither driver reported injuries. Both
drivers were wearing their seat belts.
