Dear Editor,
First, on this Veteran's Day as I write, I want to thank my
husband for his service with a medical unit in Vietnam. To all
veterans, I share in broad appreciation for the sacrifice of your
service.
I also want to thank voters for the successful outcome of my
campaign on election day. I look forward to representing
Rutland-Windsor 1 in Montpelier in the upcoming session, and also
to bringing back an informed statewide context for your
concerns.
The campaign was very much of a team effort, and it could not
have happened without such capable heads and hands working with me.
I was able to focus on door-to-door visits, all kinds of events and
meetings, and diverse communications. Many others assisted with
contributions, signs, driving, mailings, sign-holding, letters, and
general encouragement along the way. My thanks to all, including
downtown headquarters and beyond, who assisted in any way. I send
special thanks to family and friends whose support moved me
forward. I am honored to serve.
I look forward to connecting with other representatives and
doing the work. My priorities remain - to keep our schools strong
and to attract diverse small business and industry to our
area.
Thanks to Rep. Eckhardt and all who have served before me. Years
ago, I registered as an Independent, and I still ascribe to
independent thinking and collaborative problem-solving as a future
legislator. There is much good work to be done.
