On Nov. 20, the Vermont Drug Task Force continued an
investigation into the manufacturing and dispensing of
methamphetamine. The Drug Task Force made multiple controlled
buys of powder meth from Michael Wood, age 44, and Steven Arnold,
age 20, at Wood's residence in Hancock, Vt. The investigation
indicated that meth was being manufactured at the residence and the
hazardous material that it produces was being dumped and burned on
the property.
On Tuesday, Nov. 20, the Drug Task Force and the Vermont State
Police Clandestine Lab Team executed a search warrant at Wood's
residence and arrested Wood and Arnold without incident. The
investigation continued on Wednesday with the Clan Lab Team and the
Vermont State Hazardous Material Team responding to the crime scene
to process the site.
A second search warrant was executed at another residence on Rt.
125 in Hancock. At that residence Meegan Smith, age 32, was
arrested for an outstanding warrant from New York State for felony
Possession of Precursors for Methamphetamine. Smith also has
two arrest warrants from Vermont, a Mittimus warrant and a
Violation of Probation. Smith will also be charged with Conspiracy
to Manufacture Methamphetamine.
Smith was held without bail, Arnold and Wood were lodged with
$25,000 bail each at the Marble Valley Regional Correctional
Facility.
