Three police cruisers catch fire, cause of fire undetermined but not suspicious

On Nov. 22 at 2:40 a.m. a 911 call was made for a reported car fire at the Norwich Police Department parking lot at 10 Hazen St Norwich. Norwich Fire Department immediately responded and extinguished the fire. The FD found the vehicles on fire to be that of the Norwich Police Departments three marked police cruisers.

The Norwich Police Chief requested the Vermont Stale Police to conduct an origin and cause investigation. Fire investigators from the State Police and Division of Fire Safety responded to the scene on Nov. 22.

The investigation showed the cause of this fire to be undetermined and not suspicious. The three cruisers were considered a total loss and the property is valued at approximately $100,000. There were no reported injuries as a result of this fire.
