On Nov. 4, at approximately 5:38 p.m., Troopers from the Vermont
State Police responded to US Route 4 in Mendon for a one vehicle
traffic crash involving a moose.
Through investigation it was learned Korey Kubricki, age 20 from
Little Egg Hrb, NJ, was operating his 2009 GMC Canyon traveling
east on Route 4, at speeds no greater than 50 mph. A bull
moose emerged from the south side of US Route 4 and ran into the
eastbound lane, and into Kubricki's path of travel. Kubricki
was not able to avoid collision and subsequently collided with the
moose. There was Substantial front impact damage to the vehicle but
Kubricki not injured. He was wearing his seatbelt.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Rutland City Fire
Department.
