Long Trail Ale, the number one selling craft beer in the state
of Vermont, won a gold medal at the 16th annual Great International
Beer Festival, earlier this month in Providence, Rhode Island.
The competition featured 470 beers and ciders judged by 83
industry professionals and beer journalists. Long Trail Ale, a
German Altbier, was rated best in its category.
"Everyone here is thrilled that Long Trail Ale is once again
taking home some hardware from the GIBF," said company president,
Brian Walsh. "We go to great lengths to produce world-class ales
that are consistent, pour after pour. It means a great deal
for all our hard work to be recognized with a gold medal for our
flagship ale."
Long Trail Ale was the beer that launched the brand in 1989 and
has won numerous awards along the way. It has helped propel Long
Trail from a small start-up, operating out the basement of the Old
Bridgewater Woolen Mill, to one of the most popular brands of craft
beer in the country.
Long Trail has become an industry leader in advancing green
brewing practices, state-of the art quality controls and developing
cutting-edge brew styles. The Long Trail Visitor Center in
Bridgewater Corners has become a premiere destination to tourists
visiting the state and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7
p.m.
