Man charged with burglary at Killington Sports Outfitters

On Dec. 9 at approximately 1:10 a.m., Troopers from the Vermont State Police, Rutland Barracks responded to the Killington Sports Outfitters to investigate the report of a burglary. Upon arrival and with the assistance of security guards from Censor security, the Troopers located and spoke with Richard Light, age 28 from Staten Island, NY, who had fallen asleep outside of the store in the rear of the building.

At the time, Light was wearing a jacket, shirt and hat that he stole from inside the store, valued at approximately $350. Further investigation by the Troopers and Killington Constable Montgomery revealed that Light gained entry through one of the front windows, which he broke.

Light was lodged for lack of bail and was scheduled to be arraigned on Monday, Dec. 10, at 12:30 p.m. in Rutland District Court under the charges of burglary, petit larceny and unlawful mischief.
