On Dec. 9 at approximately 1:10 a.m., Troopers from the Vermont
State Police, Rutland Barracks responded to the Killington Sports
Outfitters to investigate the report of a burglary. Upon arrival
and with the assistance of security guards from Censor security,
the Troopers located and spoke with Richard Light, age 28 from
Staten Island, NY, who had fallen asleep outside of the store in
the rear of the building.
At the time, Light was wearing a jacket, shirt and hat that he
stole from inside the store, valued at approximately
$350. Further investigation by the Troopers and Killington
Constable Montgomery revealed that Light gained entry through one
of the front windows, which he broke.
Light was lodged for lack of bail and was scheduled to be
arraigned on Monday, Dec. 10, at 12:30 p.m. in Rutland District
Court under the charges of burglary, petit larceny and unlawful
mischief.
