Register by Feb. 4 for VINS avian rehab workshop

VINS invites licensed rehabilitation professionals and individuals working toward a wildlife rehabilitation license to attend the 2013 Avian Wildlife Rehabilitation Workshop Series at VINS Nature Center. This series of workshops will allow participants to learn key principles of avian rehabilitation through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands-on labs.

Workshops will be offered one Saturday per month beginning Feb. 9, from 1-4 p.m. The first workshop will cover Avian Anatomy & Physiology. Discover how unique a bird's body is, how it differs from mammals, and how they use their special adaptations in everyday life.

Topics of future workshops will include Physical Examination & Initial Care, Fluid Therapy & Emaciation Treatment, Wound Management, Fracture Immobilization, and Baby Bird Care. For full schedule and complete descriptions of workshop topics, please visit www.vinsweb.org.

The Avian Wildlife Rehabilitation Workshops are geared toward adults 18 and older. Cost for the workshops is only $24 per session for VINS members and $30 per session for non-members. Please pre-register for the first session before Feb. 4 on www.vinsweb.org, or by calling 802-359-5000 ext. 223.
