Charges accumulate for Seck

RUTLAND - On Aug. 1 at approx. 8:49 a.m. members of the Rutland City Police Department and Vermont State Police went to a residence on East Street in the City of Rutland, in an attempt to locate 31-year-old Nicholas Seck. Seck was wanted by the State Police for being in possession of stolen property taken from Mark Welch of Mendon, Vt.

The stolen property consisted of a felony amount of stolen metal (brass) taken from Welch's property.

While at the scene, Seck was located by a Rutland City Police K-9 hiding under insulation in the basement. 34-year-old Michelle Brothers from Rutland was also located at the residence. Brother's and Seck have conditions of release imposed on them issued by the Rutland Superior Court, Criminal Division. These conditions prohibit the pair form having contact with each other. Both were arrested at the scene, and were later lodged at the Marble Valley Correctional Center. Brothers was held on $10,000 bail; Seck on $50,000 bail.

Seck will also appear in Rutland Superior court to answer to charges of Felony Burglary from a Rutland City Police Department case. During this case Seck burglarized the Dana School on East Street by entering and cutting copper piping from the building. These charges by the City Police will be outlined during Seck's scheduled appearance.

The charge of Larceny From a Motor Vehicle will also be outlined at a later date.  

Seck, while being transported to the Marble Valley Correctional Center was caught stealing a $1 bill from Trooper Alberico's Vermont State Police Cruiser. Seck reported he needed the dollar to buy a cigarette at the correctional center.
