Early morning fire damages Poultney apartment building

Red Cross meeting with displaced mother of two
POULTNEY - In the early morning hours Friday, Dec. 13, long before the sun came up, fire struck a five-unit apartment building on Bentley Avenue in Poultney, Vt. At least one unit was damaged and its three residents, a mother and two children, were displaced.
The family called in need of Red Cross disaster assistance. Volunteers with the Rutland County Disaster Action Team met with the mother and determined that family was in need of temporary lodging. Other emergency assistance will be provided as needed.
This fire occurred within hours of fire striking a Winooski, Vt. apartment building which displaced 21 people who received Red Cross assistance.
