Police report skiing fatality on Great Northern

KILLINGTON - On Thursday, Dec. 12, at approx. 4:45 p.m., Vermont State Police Rutland dispatch received a 911 call concerning an overdue and missing skier on Killington Mountain.
Friends of Jennifer Strohl age 21 from Jim Thorpe, PA, contacted ski patrol at about 3 p.m. after not being able to make contact with her. They had become separated from Strohl earlier in the day and hadn't seen her since 10:45 a.m. or so while skiing the Great Northern Trail at Killington Resort.
Killington Ski patrol began a search and retraced Strohl's route, locating her 10 feet off the side of the trail at approx. 4:45 p.m. She was reported deceased. They made contact with VSP. Strohl's death is currently under investigation but doesn't appear to be suspicious at this time. Police report that Strohl was not wearing a helmet and sustained head injuries as a result of an apparent collision.
