As the weather continues to get warmer, the golf course
continues to get greener and more and more friends and new faces
are starting to appear here at Green Mountain National.
While it is still very early season, the course and the driving
range are open daily and both are in great shape. Membership
packages that fit into any budget are still available in the pro
shop and we are happy to see so many new members as we head into
the golf season.
The 2012 Events Calendar is updated every week with lots of new
activities for both members and the general public. So don't miss
any of the tournaments or great events that are heading to GMNGC
this summer.
The Lookout Tavern is hosting our first big "local" tournament of
the season on Monday, May 14 to benefit the Teddy Bridges' Memorial
Scholarship Fund. So "save the date" and join in for a great day of
golf as we remember our good friend.
Mr. Bridges was a legend in the Vermont hospitality business and
was named an "Ambassador of Vermont Tourism" during his long and
distinguished career. The proceeds from this tournament go toward a
scholarship fund that helps students pursue careers in the resort
and tourism industry. Details are still being worked out but keep
checking back here in the Mountain Times for more details.
Thursday Night Twilight League starts up on May 17 and folks can't
wait to for this popular weekly event to begin. As always, everyone
is welcome to play and beginners are encouraged to join in on the
fun. Every Thursday evening we play a 5-person, "blind-draw"
scramble, followed by dinner in the clubhouse with fantastic prizes
donated by local businesses. The cost is $25 for non-members/$15
for members and that includes everything you'll need for a fun
night of golf. Sign-up by calling Thursdays mornings and then meet
at the clubhouse at 4:30 p.m.
