It is tournament time here at Green Mountain National and with
the course in such amazing shape there is going to be some great
golf this May!
Next Thursday night the wait is over and we'll be kicking-off
Twilight League, our most popular weekly event. This will be a
special night sponsored by Long Trail Ale and Kelly Spear is
already "trash-talking" and guaranteeing a win for her team! We
will have some great prizes including lunch at the Long Trail
Brewery, tickets to the "Apres-Ride Party" for the Long Trail
Century Ride or some other great Long Trail swag. Every Thursday
night is a fun, relaxed "blind-draw" scramble and beginners are
always encouraged to attend and bring friends. $15 for members /
$25 for non-members includes golf, cart, prizes and dinner.
Our next "Killington Major" is the Teddy Bridges' Memorial
Scholarship Fund Tournament and will be held on Monday, May 14 at
10 a.m. Teddy Bridges was a legend in the Vermont hospitality
industry and was named an "Ambassador of Vermont Tourism" during
his long and distinguished career. Proceeds from his tournament go
toward a scholarship fund that will help students pursue careers in
the resort and tourism industry. Call the Lookout Tavern at
802-422-5665 to register, or email Phil at lookoutvt@gmail.com, for
more information.
We are also happy to announce the dates for both sessions of our
GMNGC Junior Golf Camps. Our first camp will be held June 18, 19
& 20 and the second session will be held August 13, 14 &
15. Both sessions include three days of instruction with our
professional golf staff, on-course play and fun activities and
lunch each day. The cost for each session is $99 per junior golfer
and space is limited.
Gracie's Grill is also open for lunch everyday from 11 a.m. until 4
p.m. and we hope you'll stop down to enjoy a great meal on our
deck. Dave, our clubhouse manager, has been working hard on some
new menu items that we know you'll love. The staff recommends the
new Philly Cheesesteak with onion rings- be sure to bring your
appetite!
