PES music teacher Denis Andriscin held a music recital for her
students at the Proctor Union Church Parish Hall on, Tuesday, June
5. Family and friends listened as the students showcased their
talents.
Gwyneth Owen was the first on the piano playing Happy Birthday To
You and I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing. Samantha Bates played
four piano pieces which included Yankee Doodle and a duet with
Andriscin called Princess Waltz. Elihu Harper, also on the piano,
played Showboat, Jake In The Beanstalk and A Little Night Music.
Madison Lee played two longer pieces on the piano including a duet
with Andriscin. Rachel Moody and her sister Leah Moody each
entertained the audience with solo flute performances. Sarah Varney
played Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata from memory. Susan Atwood sang
two songs including You've Got A Friend In Me. Madison Fetterolf
ended the recital with several jazzy, toes-tapping songs.
Proctor Elementary School had to make cut to the music program
this past year, which unfortunately meant that many students were
unable to showcase their talents. This recital was Andriscin's way
of letting her students show off all their hard work and shine in
front of family.
