Portion of proceeds to support local athletes
The recently opened Vermont Farm Stand is dedicated to
supporting local athletes, farmers, artists and craft makers in the
greater Killington area. Located along Route 4 between Killington
and Woodstock, the market is highly visible and easy to access,
which is great for both exhibitor and visitors to the stand.
Supporting local farm stand and buying local products has an
immediate impact on the health of the environment and viability of
our community. Buying local reduces fuel consumption, is fresher
and healthier, reduces reliance on fertilizers and pesticides,
creates local jobs, connects communities, improves the local
economy and, in short, is sustainable.
A portion of the proceeds will aid snow sport athletes at the
regional, national and international level by covering expenses
such as travel, training and equipment. Among the athletes who will
benefit is US Ski Team member Chelsea Marshall of Pittsfield, Vt.
who competed in the 2010 Winter Olympics.
The market is open to the public every Friday through Sunday
from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Labor Day. It is located at 8474
Route 4 in Killington, one mile east of the Skyship Gondola in
front of First Stop Board Barn.
