Happy Holidays to all!
Have you been naughty or nice this holiday season? For you nice
boys and girls, I'm going to give you a musical gift. In addition
to the great skiing and riding at Killington, thanks to their
world-class snowmaking, there will also be some great musicians
rocking out in the base lodges. So take a break for some food and
drink around 2 p.m. and get ready to rock. Some of the hottest acts
shuffle around the base lodges. Look for Joey Leone, Duane
Carleton, Jamie's Junk Show, Bi-Polar Bears, Jonathan Newell, just
to name a few.
The legendary slopeside bar, Mahogany Ridge at the K1 Base Lodge,
has music Thursday through Saturday and Monday. They will also be
having some entertainment out at the brand new Roaring Brook
Umbrella Bar and Deck.
Also find spectacular views and live entertainment at the Long
Trail Pub at Snowshed Lodge every Friday and Saturday. The Long
Trail Pub is a restaurant and a sports bar, so you don't have to
the games either! While you're here, try their signature Snowshed
Red Ale.
Bear Mountain rocks out every Saturday, once they open for the
season, which could be as early as this weekend, conditions
permitting! This is the place to go for a cold beer on the deck
overlooking the Superpipe and Outer Limits. You can also enjoy
fresh hand-tossed pizza while listening to those great bands.
Pico Mountain has entertainment every Friday and Saturday in the
Last Run Lounge. This authentic ski lodge pub, located on the top
level of Pico Lodge, features a cozy fireplace and a wood-timbered
ceiling.
You also can warm up by the fire, listen to some great music, have
a drink and eat some delicious food at Ovations Restaurant once the
lifts close after 4 p.m. every Saturday. Ovations is a fine dining
family restaurant with plenty of healthy kid options on the menu
too. Of course, they also have a great musical rotation of Jim
Hollis, Chuck Kelsey, James Joel and Wayne Canney.
