Rockin’ the Region: Chuck Kelsey

Chuck Kelsey hails from Lake George, NY but we are lucky he travels to Killington. You can catch Kelsey Thursday nights at Jax through the winter season before he heads back over to the lake in the summer months. He has played up and down the east coast of the United States from Virginia Beach to New Hampshire.

Kelsey has been a Singer/Songwriter Acoustic Entertainer for over 30 years and a full-time musician for the past 10. He has some great original music and will amaze you with his mix of cover songs from Jimmy Buffet to Dave Matthews, Stained, Led Zeppelin, and more. His original style of music is a nice blend of rock, country and traditional folk (true life stories).

Kelsey does a mix of music at his gigs from originals, classic rock, alternative, trop rock, and main stream. A witty (dry) sense of humor and an open easiness with crowds make him compatible for all types.

Kelsey worked hard in the corporate world for years and to be able to say that he does gigs for a living is a great change for him. Kelsey is influenced mostly by life's everyday adventures- the things you see, touch, taste and smell every day.

His biggest musical influence was Bitter Sweet Harmony, a local band from the late 70's and early 80's. When he finally dove right in, he never looked back. Kelsey's dream tour would be with James Taylor, Neil Young and Philly's own Robert Hazard because all are great story tellers.

Kelsey has a song "Over the Meadow" which is currently #3 on the Top Folk Charts in Fort Edward, NY.

Ken from RadioUgly says Kelsey's show is "Clean, Crisp, Highly Energetic, and Crowd stimulating...A Must See." He was also a finalist for Entertainer of the Year and Song of the Year (Christmas Through the Eyes of a Child) for NECMA (Northeast Country Music Association).

Kelsey's long term goal is "just to keep doing my shows, writing new songs, and trying to give people a good vibe! I would be most happy with that!"
