6th Annual Run/Walk For IDIC 15 returns this Sunday

The 6th Annual Run/Walk for IDIC 15 is set for Sunday, September 16 on River Road. The Run/Walk will include a 5K loop and a Kids Fun Run at the Johnson Recreation Center.

The Run/Walk For IDIC 15 is one of the Dup15q Alliance's greatest fundraisers, providing family support and promoting awareness, research and targeted treatments for IDIC (15) - Chromosome 15q Duplication Syndrome.

There will be a pre-registration event at the Basin Ski Shop on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 3 - 6 p.m. People may register for the run/walk and registered participants will be able to pick up their bibs and t-shirts at this event. Raffle tickets will also be on sale.
Beginning and ending at the Johnson Recreation Center, the 5K course is designed as a flat and fast course on River Road, which is perfect for the whole family. The finish area will be filled with food, ice cream, and kids activities including laser tag. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female in the run. The Kids Fun Run will include a loop on the Johnson Recreation Center fields. All participants will be entered into a raffle, with prizes donated by local businesses, including a 2012-13 Killington Season Pass.

Additional raffle tickets may be purchased for $5.

Registration opens at 8 a.m. on Sunday, with the Kids Fun Run beginning at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K beginning at 10 a.m. Pre-registration is $22/ages 13 & up and $18/ages 12 & under. The fee rises to $25/all ages the day of the event. The Kids Fun Run is $5 for ages 12 & under. Net proceeds will be donated to support Dup15q Alliance.

The Run/Walk For IDIC 15 is sponsored by Killington Resort, Rutland Regional Medical Center and The Mountain Times.

The event would not be possible without the generous support of Killington community members. There are several opportunities to volunteer for the event including registration, course set up, timing, and more. If you are available to volunteer, please contact Lyndsay Gang at or call 802-422-3932.
