On Nov. 3, Rutland Rugby will face it's final test of the
2012 fall season against the Framingham Exiles. After a long and
arduous season, the Roosters had faced injury and low numbers
culminating in a losing season against the likes of Saratoga and
Seacoast Rugby teams.
The rugby pitch isn't the only place that the roosters have met
adversity though. Earlier this October, one of the ex-woman's team
members was diagnosed with breast cancer after the most recent of
many tours of duty with the PeaceCorps.
Through this entire season of tribulation, the Roosters plan to
use this last home game as a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness
and research. So come by the Gawet Memorial Field in West Rutland
to enjoy a day of rugby and fundraising with kickoff at 12:30 p.m.
A second game is slated to follow between the Green Mountain
Geezers and the Springfield Rusty Rifles.
