Expect to see white lights strung up and sparkling from every corner of Killington as businesses vie to out decorate each other during Killington's Festival of Lights.

Organized in partnership by Killington Town, Mountain Times and the Killington Chamber of Commerce, the Festival of Lights encourages business owners to show their holiday spirit by decorating for the holidays. "The Town plans to show off their holiday spirit by enhancing decorations throughout town at the West Hill intersection, lamp posts on the Killington Road, Municipal Offices, and at the base of the Killington Access Road on the Killington Region sign,"  says Amy Morrison, events and marketing coordinator for the Town of Killington.

Participating businesses will be judged by a panel Dec. 9-13, the week prior to the Holiday Festival. The winner will be announced at the Festival, Dec. 14-15.

In addition to bragging rights, the winner will receive front page coverage in The Mountain Times, a $1,000 advertising package, a plaque to display at their business and a Season Pass donated by Killington Resort.

Additionally, all decorated businesses will be listed on a map and in promotional materials encouraging spectators to see Killington Festival of Lights and judge each location for themselves, while enjoying the skiing, food, drink and shopping opportunities in Killington.

Who do you think will win the top award for their holiday spirit décor?

December 8 is the deadline for businesses to complete their festive décor.
