The Montpelier Chamber Orchestra (MCO) opens its 2012-2013 season in Randolph with a Fantasia of string works in a special performance at Chandler Music Hall on Sunday Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. The exciting program showcases the MCO's principal string players in performances of three masterworks for string orchestra: Grieg's Holberg Suite, Vaughn Williams' Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis, and Elgar's Introduction and Allegro.
"This program presents a fantasia of music that gives the extraordinary members of the MCO a chance to shine on some of the most beloved works," said MCO Music Director Paul Gambill. "I'm having a wonderful love affair with these works, which I find to be some of the most emotionally charged music in the chamber music repertory."
Tickets for the Randolph concert may be ordered by calling the Chandler Box Office between 3-6 p.m. weekdays. Adult tickets are $15, senior tickets are $12, student tickets are $10. They will also be available at the door. For more information, 802-595-0087 or montpelierchamberorchestra.org.
