The Friends of the West Rutland Town Hall is announcing a new
chapter in fundraising. For many years the annual tasting supper
was held at an offsite location to raise funds for renovations of
the Town Hall. Now that the Town Hall Auditorium is a functional
space, they want to showcase this historic building that they have
worked so hard to renovate.

Pies" to raise funds for Friends of the Town Hall of West
The new event, "Pickin' for Pies" will be a benefit concert held
at the Town Hall Auditorium on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 6:30 p.m. It
will feature a variety of homemade pies made by some of the towns'
famous bakers, and music by West Rutland born Dan Budd and his five
piece bluegrass band from New York, "Grass Fed Bluegrass." Playing
traditional bluegrass tunes as well as originals, Grass Fed is
sharing an old sound with new ideas that is gaining praise from
audiences all over.
Tickets are $10 at the door or $9 in advance at the Town Hall.
Over the last several months, The Friends of Town Hall have been
very busy completing a number of projects. The installation of the
air conditioning, straightening of the stage and upgrade of the
electrical totals over $175,000. The next large fundraising effort
is slated for 2014 with the restroom renovation.
