The DRP adorns the city's historic district with street decorations each year creating a backdrop for the decorating efforts of the individual business and property owners. "It really is a joint effort to decorate downtown. We appreciate the hard work that everyone put into their businesses and buildings this year. It's hard to pick a winner, there were so many to choose from. In the end, we all win because our downtown looks beautiful and festive for the holidays," said  Michael Coppinger, executive director of DRP.

This year judging was increased to a panel of 10, consisting of downtown business representatives and a student from the Castleton State College Art Program. Criteria were expanded to include interior and exterior décor.  Winners will be featured in DRP co-op ads in Rutland Magazine.

Also new this year was the introduction of a 'People's Choice' Award.  Primarily via votes on the Partnership's Facebook page the general public voted for their favorite downtown decorations.
