On Thursday, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m., FOLA will start its "Okemo Meets FOLA" winter Series of four exceptional movies with a Broadway musical blockbuster, Stephen Sondheim's "Company". The musical is performed in concert (with props) with an all-star Broadway cast supported by the music of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra.

Company revolves around Robert - a single man unable to commit fully to a steady relationship, let alone marriage - the five married couples who are his best friends, and his three girlfriends. Presented as a series of short vignettes linked by a celebration for Robert's 35th birthday, songs include Being Alive, Side by Side, The Ladies Who Lunch, Getting Married Today and Company.

Company is not so much a story as a collection of impressionistic scenes that add up to a portrait of a human institution - marriage - in the contemporary world.

This production of Stephen Sondheim's iconic tour de force on contemporary relationships features the New York Philharmonic and an all-star cast, including Craig Bierko, Stephen Colbert (yes, the same Stephen Colbert from your favorite TV "news" program), Jon Cryer, Katie Finneran, Neil Patrick Harris, Christina Hendricks, Aaron Lazar, Patti LuPone, Jill Paice, Martha Plimpton, Anika Noni Rose, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jim Walton and Chryssie Whitehead.

The movie will be shown by FOLA using its new projection equipment, at the Ludlow Town Hall Auditorium (2nd floor of the building). The movie is free and open to all; donations are appreciated. For information, call 802-228-7239.
