Saturday, Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. -WOODSTOCK- Billings Farm &
Museum, gateway to Vermont's rural heritage, will host Traditional
Craft Saturdays on the first four Saturdays in September, from 10
a.m. until 5 p.m. Visitors are invited to explore a series of
Vermont crafts - their history, process, and uses - through
informal learning and discovery. A different craft will be
featured each week.
On Sept. 7, the featured craft workshop will be woodworking with
Ross Morgan from Craftsbury. Morgan will demonstrate the steps
and techniques involved in working with a large piece of wood while
cutting, filing, steaming, drying, and shaping it into axe handles,
split shingles, and a snath (the curved handle of a scythe).
