The season kicks off July 12 with singer/songwriter Dan
Walker
The Killington Parks and Recreation Department has announced the
lineup for the popular River Road Concert Series held Thursday
evenings in July and August. Performances are outdoors at 6 p.m.
from July 12 - August 16 at the Sherburne Memorial Library on River
Road, allowing guests to enjoy the natural amphitheater of the
mountains.
"The Concert Series is the perfect accompaniment to our variety
of summer programming," says Lyndsay Gang, recreation director.
"It's perfectly designed so that children can spend their day at
one of our summer camps, join their families for a splash in the
pool, and end the evening with a free, all-ages outdoor show."
The series kicks off on July 12 with singer/songwriter Dan
Walker. Dan has been touring the country with his American Roots
Music sound, opening for songwriters such as Martin Sexton and
Livingston Taylor.
The musical acts for the series continue with performances by
the popular Vermont rock band, Chad Hollister Band on July 19;
Vermont's largest Steel Band, Panhandlers on July 26; top-notch
bluegrass and folk band, Folk by Association on August 2; hot Gypsy
jazz band, Swing Noire on August 9; and New Orleans jazz and blues
vocalist, Samirah Evans & Her Handsome Devils to complete the
Series on August 16.
An outdoor grill and lawn games will accompany the live music.
Spectators are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and
snacks to relax in the cool summer nights, while enjoying a variety
of free musical entertainment.
