Pittsford man charged with killing girlfriend

RUTLAND - The Rutland District Courthouse room was packed Monday morning for the arraignment of Christopher Sharrow, who has been charged with killing his girlfriend, 32-year-old Kristen Parker of Bristol while the couple's three young children were in the house.

According to court records, Sharrow, 35 of Pittsford, allegedly strangled, sexually assaulted and beat Parker to death. The affidavit states that neighbors could hear fighting and screaming, as well as the children crying for their mother.

State Police were called to the scene on July 5, at approximately 2:28 a.m., having received a 911 call regarding a family fight on West Creek Road in Pittsford. Troopers responded immediately and upon arrival found Parker deceased inside the residence. Parker's boyfriend, identified as Christopher Sharrow, was at the residence with their three children.

Sharrow was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Rutland Barracks. The children, all under eight years old, were uninjured.

Sharrow has denied the second-degree murder charge.

Parker's family has established a foundation to help raise money for the three children. Donations can be sent to: Kristen's Angels Foundation, 24 East St. Proctor, Vt., 05765.
