Tweed River Music Festival to light up the stage and ring through the Green Mountains, Aug. 16-18

Friday, Aug. 16 at 4 p.m.-STOCKBRIDGE- This August 16-18, Bow Thayer and Perfect Trainwreck will host the fifth annual Tweed River Music Festival, where more than 25 bands will perform amidst the Green Mountains and lazy rivers of Stockbridge.
Described by Thayer as "the best big little blowout of the summer" and "the festival for folks who don't really dig festivals," Tweed Festival attendance is capped at 2,000 fans, giving it an intimate vibe that feels more like an old-school Vermont outdoor party than a major music festival.
"You can learn to hula hoop, play Tweed potato, take in a puppet show, go tubing on the river, dance your face off, and then relax in the coolest swimming hole you ever dipped your bones in," Thayer says. "Or, you can just plant yourself in a lawn chair with a beverage of your choice and take in the natural beauty of the area, while a state-of-the-art sound system surrounds your molecular structure with music."
The site is located on an old farm near the junction of routes 100 and 107.
Originally started as a "picking party" at Thayer's mountainside cabin nearly ten years ago, the festival has become a yearly tradition, and a showcase for a diverse lineup of some of New England's independent and unsigned bands.
On-site camping near the stage is available, along with secluded sites in the woods and designated RV locations.
Tickets, ranging from $40-$60 or $140 for the whole weekend, are on sale now at www.tweedrivermusicfestival.com along with directions, onsite rules and other details.
