Dear Editor,
It is with a heavy heart that I am writing to let the Killington,
Pittsfield and Rutland communities know that our family will no
longer be able to coordinate the IDIC 15 Road Race this year.
We have had to re-prioritize our family's activities and
unfortunately, we will have to let go of the race.
We want to thank everyone that helped make this event such a big
success over the last six years and helped raise thousands of
dollars for our son's support group. The money raised allowed the
IDEAS organization to pursue medical research, start a family
registry and host three family conferences. The group is
indebted to all that our community has done for them and they also
send their thanks and appreciation for your support.
At this time I would like to offer the opportunity for another
organization to take over this race and pick-up where we are
leaving off. The road race has a great following and the
addition of the 15k brought in even more runners to our area. With
the right group of organizers, this race can help raise thousands
of dollars for your group. If you are interested in taking
over the race, please contact me directly at 802-775-4646.
Again, thank you for understanding our decision and thanks to all
you have done to help us with this great cause.
