Dear Editor
1 would like to take this opportunity to thank the many people who
helped make the Ted Bridges Hospitality Scholarship Golf Tournament
such a success including the coverage the Mountain Times gave it
before, during and after. Education and mentoring were causes near
and dear to Teddy's heart.
Bobby Peterson and Phil Black worked tirelessly and cheerfully for
this event. Ned Dyer who has worked many tournaments (he and 1
worked together for years for the FUTURES Golf Classic) was, as
usual, unequalled. I only met once with these three gentlemen and
knew everything would be perfect. There were many, many volunteers,
some of whom don't even play golf, who went above and beyond the
limit.
1 would also like to thank the hole sponsors and all the local
businesses who donated prizes that not only made the tournament
more fun but also helped raise the monies to help get this
Scholarship Fund well off the ground. Kudos to Dave Kaufman, a
professor at DVM as he was the brainchild for this idea and Megan
Smith, Commissioner for Tourism who worked hard toward this end.
Thanks to Charlie Demerest and Billy Bauer, special friends, who
helped me through the edgy times (and sometimes even made me
laugh.) A final thank you to Dave Souci and his employees at Green
Mountain Golf Course for their graciousness and also its crew for
the great shape the course was in.
A final personal note: A special thanks to Chrlie Demerest and
Billie Bauer who have helped me. I have said for years that
Killington is absolutely amazing at coming together for sad times
and for tragedies and I am happy to say this time was for a good,
happy one.
