Nearly a year after Tropical Storm Irene swept through Vermont,
facilities at Camp Plymouth State Park are finally up and
running.
The park, located on Echo Lake, has opened in stages over the
past few months as contractors and state personnel have worked to
complete repair work from last summer's storm.
All facilities, including rental cottages, group camping, picnic
pavilions, concessions, boat rentals, lawns and swimming beach are
open and ready for use. However, some visitors to the popular
day-use destination may find that the park looks a bit different
than it has in the past. Some vegetation is re-established,
according to Parks Regional manager Ethan Phelps.
"You can expect the same great customer service and experience
as always," Phelps says. "You may also notice areas where we're
still working to re-establish the lawns, and you may see additional
work crews throughout the park as we finish the repair work."
Day-use hours are 10 a.m. to sunset. Cottage, camping and pavilion
rentals can be made online at www.vtstateparks.com.
