Motorcyclists clocked at 124 MPH face charges

On July 9 at approximately 5:35 p.m. two motorcycles were observed traveling south on VT Route 103 in the town of Mount Holly. The motorcycles were clocked on radar traveling 124 MPH in a 50 MPH zone.

In attempt to catch up with the vehicle's they were seen turning onto Healdville Road. A pursuit was initiated and both motorcycles failed to stop. The pursuit lasted for 2.8 miles from the intersection of VT Route 103 on Healdville Road. One of the motorcycles did stop and the operator was identified as a Mark A. Green, age 21 of Proctorsville, Vt. along with a female passenger.

The second motorcycle continued west on Healdville road and did not stop.  Green was placed under arrest where he was transported to the Rutland State Police barracks for processing. Green was issued a citation to appear in Rutland District Court to face charges of attempting to elude and careless and negligent operation.
