Komen Vermont Race for the Cure grosses $185,046+
Exact numbers are still being tallied and dollars are still
coming in but, as of this writing, the 2012 Komen Vermont Race for
the Cure, held July 28 at Hildene Meadows in Manchester, Vt
attracted 1,587 runners and walkers, scores of volunteers, and has
brought in, $185,046, to date.
That figure includes money from cash sponsorships, race
registrations, pledges to date, the silent auction, raffle proceeds
and merchandise sales - and that figure will rise, as pledges
are being accepted through September 1.
"It was a very good day, all things considered," said Debbie
Peretz, Vermont-New Hampshire Affiliate President. "Our numbers
were down but the energy level was up, and the folks on the field -
participants, volunteers, survivors, everybody - really put their
hearts and souls into the Race. Good things will come from this
and, hopefully, we'll see our numbers start to turn around next
year."
