Secretary of State Jim Condos announces to all Vermonters that
Tuesday, Sept. 25 is National Voter Registration Day (NVRD). The
National Association of Secretaries of State is supporting the
effort to increase voter registration and voter participation in
the upcoming general election on Nov. 6.
"Register in September, make it count in November!" Secretary
Condos stated.
"It is no secret that I support and encourage all eligible citizens
of our great state to be civic minded and use their voice at the
ballot box by voting. As the Chief Elections Officer for Vermont, I
consider it one of my highest priorities to increase voter
participation and encourage democracy in action," furthered
Condos.
The impact of this day is driven by partner organizations that are
stepping up to play an important role in their communities all
across Vermont by driving attention and action around voter
registration, and to make this civic duty part of an everyday
conversation. Nationally, partners include major technology
companies, retailers, and non-profits including the League of Women
Voters, YWCA, Patagonia, and more.
Locally, we have at least five events happening across the state in
the following areas on Sept. 25, and others being planned at
different dates, times and locations:
