On Saturday, October 6, at 8:51 p.m., the Vermont State Police
Rutland Dispatch Center received a report of an incident involving
a hay wagon that required medical attention.
Members of the Benson Fire Department, Fair Haven Rescue, Fair
Haven Police Department, Castleton Police Department, Vermont Fish
and Wildlife and the Vermont State Police responded.
The preliminary investigation revealed that an individual was
struck by a hay wagon at the Annual Haunted Hayride in the town of
Benson, Vt. It was determined that one of the role players was
run over by the hay wagon on Old Lake Road. The victim was flown by
helicopter to the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. The
victims condition was unknown at the time of this release.
