Dear Editor,
Beth Pearce combines two crucial qualities that make her the
best candidate for Vermont State Treasurer: experience and good
judgment. Many candidates for public office hope they will rise to
meet the challenges of the moment; with Beth Pearce we have a
proven leader who has faced the crisis of Tropical Storm Irene and
responded with intelligent fiscal leadership. As a caring and
careful steward, she made sure child support recipients and
retirees received their checks without interruption, tax deadlines
were extended, and local highway aid and education payments were
accelerated. Hired as Deputy Treasurer in 2003, Beth Pearce has
served a full term as State Treasurer for Gov. Peter Shumlin, and
brings a non-partisan, cool-headed, and matter-of-fact composure to
the job, along with a tremendous work ethic.
I hope voters will recognize a sincere public servant and vote
for Beth Pearce for State Treasurer this November.
Sincerely,
Kathryn Milillo, Proctor, Vt.
