22-year-old passenger dies after truck rolled over embankment in Woodstock

WOODSTOCK - On Sunday, Aug. 18,  Woodstock police reported that 22-year-old Jon Ferrero, age 22 from Woodstock, was killed in an accident on Fletcher Hill Road.
A passenger in a Chevrolet pickup, Jon Ferrero was found dead after the truck rolled over the embankment on the east side of the intersection of Peterkin Hill and Fletcher Hill roads. The driver of the truck, identified as 21-year-old Justin Pierce, was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center with serious injuries. As of Monday, Pierce was listed in fair condition.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation, alcohol is considered a possible factor.
A memorial service for Ferrero will be held at Woodstock Union High School Baseball field on Friday, Aug. 23 at 6 p.m. He played baseball for Woodstock Union High School graduating in 2010. He dreamed of playing baseball on a major league team. On the afternoon of his death he had led the Claremont Cardinals Baseball team to their second championship title in a tournament against the Walpole Wild Blue team. He was with his best friend, Justin Pierce, at the time of his death.
Jon is survived by his parents, David and Nancy Ferrero of Woodstock; his brother, Charlie Ferrero, of Woodstock; and his sister, Kristina Ferrero Meduna of Waltham, MA; as well as his fiancée, Morgan Pierce of Woodstock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodstock High School Baseball Booster Club c/o WUHS.
Cabot Funeral Home of Woodstock is in charge of the arrangements.
